Chocolate Lava Molten Cake

Chocolate lava cakes are dangerously irresistible, you won't be able to stop at just one. When they come out of the oven, they're still gooey, but not burnt and raw in the center. If you're a chocolate lover looking for a dessert recipe that will make all your friends envy your baking skills, this is it!

Chocolate Lava Molten Cake

-3/4 cup of butter and 2 sticks (1 cup) softened

-1 cup sugar

-2 eggs

-2/3 cup cocoa powder

-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

-A pinch of salt

A little milk as needed for consistency.

1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit/180 degrees Celsius and line the bottoms of a ramekin with a pat of butter. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT-say it with me: "Butter the ramekin bottoms…so the chocolate cake won't stick."

2. Add sugar and butter to a mixer, cream on medium speed until fluffy, 2 minutes. Then add one egg at a time, mixing after each addition until fully incorporated into the batter. At this point, you might want to see whether or not your battery is getting gooey enough; if not, add some milk so that it's thinner.

3. Once the batter is ready, add cocoa powder and vanilla extract, and mix until fully combined. Pour batter into each ramekin.

4. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Now, this is important too: "Don't overbake!" When you pull them out of the oven, they'll look like raw chocolate lava cakes, but it's crucial that you let them cool down for 5-10 minutes out of the oven before serving. This will make your Chocolate Lava Cakes less doughy and gooier; (see picture below).

5. Serve and enjoy!
