Buffalo chicken wings are buffalo sauce iced wings. They're spicier than the original recipe for chicken wings and sometimes served with melted butter or ranch dressing to cool them down. If you're looking for an easy game day appetizer, look no further than this popular variation on the classic bar food favorite.
Ingredients
1 lb chicken wings.
2 chipotle powder canisters
2 tbsp mild ground chipotle chili pepper
2 cups Frank’s Buffalo Hot Sauce
2 tbsp butter or oil 1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp molasses (optional)
1 egg.
Directions
Peel and cut the wings in half. Place the wings in a bowl with the hot sauce, and mix to coat evenly. Refrigerate until needed. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Dredge half of the wings in the butter, then add to the hot sauce mixture and toss to coat evenly. Saute for about 2 minutes on each side or until the chicken begins to brown. Remove wings with tongs and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Repeat with remaining wings until all are sauteed and fried, adding more hot sauce if needed to coat them evenly before putting them back in the skillet. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce and molasses (if using), egg, and chipotle puree until well blended. Pour sauce over the wings and toss again to coat. Continue to fry until the chicken is cooked through, turning once while cooking.
