How To Make Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies

Ingredients 1 cup of butter 2 cups of sugar (powdered sugar is preferred). 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp salt 2 tsp vanilla extract 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate melted 3/4 cup butter. Lastly 1 8-ounce jar of cream cheese that has a little less than 1/2 cup of melted butter mixed into the top.

Method First, you make the batter. In a large bowl, beat together the eggs for about 5 minutes until tripled in size. Add the sugar, butter, and vanilla (the vanilla extract can be added now or added prior to mixing). Then add the flour and salt (sift twice before adding). Stir until smooth. I personally prefer a handheld wooden whisk for mixing my batter because it is easy to move around so I can whip all of the ingredients together at low speed once they are mixed together. The next step is to bake the brownies. You should preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease your baking pan with some sort of cooking spray. I used a high-quality non-stick spray and it worked beautifully. Place the mixture into your pan, but do not stir to smooth out the top. Once you put over half of the batter in, you will swirl in the softened cream cheese and melted butter so that it creates large swirls throughout your batter. Add the rest of the batter on top of the cream cheese layer and smooth out with a spatula. This recipe is meant to create a marbled effect, not just a swirl effect on top.
