Oreos and chocolate chip cookies are a match made in heaven. These cookies have all the flavors of an Oreo cookie baked inside: a layer of chocolate chip cookie, a layer of white chocolate chip cookie, and creamy vanilla frosting between them. Trust us, you'll love them!

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 Oreos, crushed into crumbs

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) and grease two baking sheets or line them with parchment paper. In a large bowl cream together cream cheese, butter or margarine, sugars, whole eggs, and egg yolks until light in color. Add flour mixture gradually alternating with sour cream then blend well after each addition. Add vanilla and blend well. In a separate bowl gently fold in chocolate chips.

Work quickly so that the dough does not get too warm or the chips will melt and slide around in your cookies! Using a small ice cream scoop, drop by quarter teaspoonful onto the cookie sheet leaving 1-2 inches between cookies. Allow standing at room temperature for 30-60 minutes before baking. Bake for 7-8 minutes until golden brown on the bottom.

Remove from oven and cool completely before frosting or sliding into Oreo cookie sandwich. Enjoy!
